Veedersburg - Effie S. Harper, 97, died at 11:20 p.m. Monday in Covington Car Center at Covington where she had been a resident the past 5 years. A former Veedersburg resident, she was a member of Sterling Christian Church. Mrs. Harper was born Jan 15, 1886, at Marshall, a daughter of David and Mary Kirkham Morgan. She married Alvert (sic) Harper on Sept 6 1902 at Veedersburg. He preceded her in death Feb 21, 1958. Survivors include two sons, Gordon of New Market and Ross of Veedersburg; 7 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 24 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Parham Funeral Home at Veedersburg with Rev. Richard Throckmorton officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic. Friends may call from 2-4 and after 7 p.m. Wednesday. – kbz
